COBRA Administration

Federal

COBRA generally applies to all private sector group health plans maintained by employers that have at least 20 employees on more than 50 percent of their typical business days in the previous calendar year.

Group health plans must provide qualified beneficiaries with specific notices explaining their COBRA rights. Typically, those notices come with a cost to the employer, however with TFIA, we cover that cost for all our clients. Our job is to help our clients protect what matters most, along with saving our clients money.

Texas State Continution

Texas law allows employees of smaller fully insured employers (fewer than 20 employees) to keep the same group health insurance coverage for up to nine months after the loss of a job or loss of coverage because of a reduction in work hours. Texas also allows TSC for up to six months post-COBRA.

TFIA Pays for this Benefit to keep our clients compliant.
